Mom’s 2009 G37x is getting up there in mileage and age, and she’s on the lookout for a new car. She’s got a loan for anything under $100,000. Her requirements are as follows:
It must be new
It cannot be a Ford product (fuck if I know why)
It cannot be a truck (already have one)
It must have balls
She says she wants an SUV. Dad is trying to get her into a Land Cruiser, but every time he brings it up she mentions the Trackhawk has damn near twice as much horsepower for the same price. She really wants a JK/JL, but the 6cyl isn’t going to cut it. I think she wants a Jeep with a V8 because dad and I each have one and she’s jelly. What would you get?

Anything except the QX80. I have grown to inexplicably hate that thing after seeing 20 per day lately (and growing).
It’s like the Hummer H2 for the current era.
Approved for $100k or “willing to spend $100k”? Or both?

Range Rover Sport, Supercharged. Easily comes in under 100k.
That, or the just get the Trailhawk

Looks like both.

If you have that much money to spend on an SUV, just buy the damn Range Rover.
I know you said new but: https://www.carmax.com/car/15899151

I bet if I get her to a dealer she’ll drive off with one.

The correct answer then is to spend $80k and keep $20k in reserves. Then you can open it up to Jaguar and Land Rover!

Forgot about the Cayenne. Hmm.

Too smol. She needs at least 4,500lb of SUV for her 5'-nothing self.

F-Pace? X5?

Range Rover Supercharged.
Or wait for the Velar SVR (*swoon!*)

X5 might be in her wheelhouse. I told her to look at a RR Sport Supercharged or the Volvo XC90 T8.

I mean...not SUV, so probably a deal breaker, but panemera sport turismo 4S?

Financing, tomato tomahto, etc. She’s got a check good for up to $100K.

Both very fine choices as well.

Good credit score, awesome credit union.

My parents have those, and I’m not driving an SQ5.

Neither am I. They did what anyone does for financing. Call up your lendor, tell them the budget for the car, and they run your credit history and away you go for an approval. I did the same thing for my Mazda 6.

Haha, fair enough; 4,100 pounds doesn’t cut it.
